Sipping My Way Through Italy: A Solo Wine Adventure

Last year, I decided to take the ultimate solo trip—an entire month in Italy. My love for Italian red wine was really starting to blossom, so I figured, what better place to dive deeper? I started in Milan, then made my way to Lake Como, Venice, Tuscany, and finally, Rome. Each stop was a mix of beautiful scenery, delicious food, and, of course, incredible wine.

One of the highlights was pairing local cheeses with different wines, learning just how naturally Italians weave wine into everyday life. Wine at lunch? Why not! Dinner? Absolutely. I quickly embraced the idea of table wine—a simple, delicious part of nearly every meal. And Chianti? A total game-changer. I also got a crash course in how the Italian government regulates wine production, which was fascinating.

It was the perfect trip for diving headfirst into the world of Italian reds while soaking up everything that makes Italy so special. Solo travel win!
